Mr. Bassetti is a licensed attorney in both New Jersey and New York for over 25 years, with expertise in commercial and business matters as well as real estate law and general practice. He is a proud graduate of both Fordham Law School and the Fordham University College of Business Administration.
In 2002, he founded BassettiLaw, LLC, one of the Metropolitan New York area’s largest real estate closing law firms, and which acted in the capacity of closing agent for numerous well-known many mortgage lenders and real estate companies. Since the founding of the Firm, it has closed several billion dollars in loans and completed approximately 10,000 closings as Approved / Preferred Counsel for numerous real estate companies, banks, mortgage lenders, brokerage firms and financial services companies. The firm has represented individuals and entities buying or selling real estate in New York, New Jersey and (through affiliated attorneys), Pennsylvania. Ed is licensed to practice law in New Jersey and New York.

Ed previously worked in Chicago and New York for one of the nation’s best-known class- and group-action securities law firms, specializing in investor litigation in several Federal Courts, as well as in the State Courts of New York and New Jersey.
In the earlier part of his career, in 1992, Ed founded a private law firm in central and northern New Jersey which specialized in commercial, corporate and financial matters, including securities litigation. His clients included physicians, attorneys, accountants, several well-known film, television and stage actors and professional athletes. Prior thereto, in the late 1980’s, Ed worked at a large law firm in suburban New Jersey handling securities, corporate and financial matters and litigation, in both Federal and State Courts. His clients included an international arbitrage firm, a commercial bank and several mortgage companies.
Upon graduating Fordham Law School, Ed served with distinction as Law Clerk to the Honorable Bernard Newman, Senior Judge, at the United States Court of International Trade in New York, New York, and assisted in cases pertaining to international trade issues, anti-dumping and countervailing duties, import classification matters and related cases. When the clerkship concluded, he worked for a Wall Street investment banking firm as Legal Counsel in the Public Finance Department. He developed, coordinated and implemented multi-million dollar tax-exempt municipal bond projects in conjunction with various Economic and Industrial Development Authorities throughout the U.S.
Ed received his Juris Doctor degree from Fordham Law School in 1981, after receiving a Bachelor of Sciences degree Cum Laude from Fordham University College of Business Administration in 1978. In his junior year in college, Ed was awarded membership in Beta Gamma Sigma, the national business honorary society
